DRC Mining Cadastre Urges Compliance with Concession Tax Payments

The Mining Cadastre (CAMI) issued a press release on Friday, May 31, 2024, urging holders of mining or quarry rights to comply with the payment of taxes on the area of mining concessions.

This announcement follows a memorandum of understanding signed between CAMI and the General Directorate of Revenue of Lualaba (DRLU), which aims to ensure that all mining and quarry right holders meet their financial obligations.

CAMI specifically addressed those who have not yet paid the tax on the area of mining concessions for the 2024 fiscal year. The press release stated that the automatic assessment notes for this tax have been available since February 1, 2024, at CAMI counters in Kinshasa, as well as at its provincial directorates in Lubumbashi and Kolwezi.

CAMI reminded all taxable persons, i.e., the holders of mining or quarry rights, that this tax complies with the provisions of the DRC mining law, particularly articles 62, 71, and 177 of the revised mining code of 2018.

This compliance is essential for maintaining legal and operational standards within the mining sector and ensuring continued economic contributions to the DRC.
